From Rolling Stone:

It is a fundamental lesson in the history of rock & roll and its continuing power to inspire and transform. The Immortals is a tribute to those who created rock & roll, written by their peers and heirs, those who have learned from their innovations, struggles and legacies.

Ladies, this might be the answer to why you don't understand when most guys you meet try to flirt with you...

It's that time of the year...

2006 is gonna be gone in less than half an hour. And here I am sitting at home, updating this blog after who knows how long. So I thought what better way to update than reflect on the passing year.

This was a good year in many aspects. A lot of changes took place in my life both socially as well as emotionally. A lot of this might sound repetitive but I think it's worth mentioning again. Although it wasn't the most educational experience that I had expected to be, my summer internship gave me a lot of insight on what it's like to have a job and live on your own. And it gave me much better understanding of how I'd like my career to be (and it's certainly not gonna be spent in the field of engineering!) But you already knew that.

Then came moving into our new apartment on campus. Living with Adip so far has been one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I know what it's like to live with a bad roommate but I never knew that living with a good roommate could have such a huge impact on your lifestyle. Adip is my cooking-bitch while I'm his cleaning-bitch, and together we are perfect roomies. And I don't care how gay that sounds, cause I know that all you guys who hung out with us this year know that our apartment is the coolest place to be! :P

Academically, fall quarter didn't go as well as I had expected. But I don't feel that bad about it because I had a lot of unforgettable moments with my friends and the trade-off was well worth it! It's funny though because I'm almost at the same point GPA-wise where I was last year at this time of the year. Which means that this Winter quarter is also gonna be a tough one. I'll be living at the ECE labs most of the time since I'm only taking ECE classes and couple of them are 700-level. I think it's good that I won't have any free time to waste because Spring quarter will be much more appreciated later!

Winter break was going great, until the day when I got into my car accident. Luckily nobody was hurt, but my car is badly damaged and I've become a paranoid driver since then. I pretty much stayed at home because I didn't think I was ready to go out and drive yet. My parents weren't here for most of break and there was nobody on campus either, which made the holidays seem very lonely and boring. I'm still not used to being in our new house. At first I thought it was because it's too big, but I think it's because so far it's only a house and not a home. Once we get new furniture and decorate it properly it will be fine.

That's pretty much it. Here are some odds & ends to this post.

My Favorite Hindi films of 2006:

  • Rang De Basanti
  • Omkara
  • Dor
  • Khosla Ka Ghosla
  • Lagge Raho Munnabhai

My Favorite Non-Hindi films of 2006:

I'll come up with this list once the Oscars are closer and I have actually seen all the movies that I wanted to this year.

Things to look forward to in 2007:
  • Turning 21
  • Graduating from OSU (sometime in 2007...hopefully)
  • Seeing my friends graduate in June
  • Going to Europe!!
  • 300, Spiderman 3, and The Namesake (movies)
Hope everyone has an eventful 2007 ahead of them!
